I had a roommate who called her mom every twenty seconds. Every time we went out on a very exciting journey before we jumped into our room she would be on the phone, talking all hour-long to her family. Telling them all about her day. Sometimes I found it trying, but beyond, it made me make a decision to put a higher value on my family.

As a teenager, Mirabel had read Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Adichie and she was struck by how the writer could capture societal issues in words. So, being a writer, Mirabel decided to start her website just to put up her stories.
There, storytelling, email newsletter production, organizational communication and mobile video editing softwares were amongst the topics discussed. It is important that we equip ourselves with the right knowledge from the right people, in order to make the right decisions and impacts.
During my first mentoring relationship, I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted. I wanted to play the guitar better (yes I’m a fabulous guitarist), to know how to publish books and write better. My first mentor was and is still a very amazing lady, Esther Eshiet. Under her mentorship, I started Blankpaperz.
